Job Responsibilities: -Drive gasoline or diesel-powered tractor-trailer combination, usually long distances, to transport liquid nitrogen and nitrogen pumping equipment to customers in a timely, accurate and courteous manner -Safely rig-up and rig-down nitrogen pumping unit(s) on site -Manage liquid nitrogen and fuel deliveries throughout job to maintain consistent supply while minimizing related costs -Follow all zone, local, and corporate policies/procedures, including Driver's Handbook, Department of Transportation (DOT), state/local regulations, safety policies, etc -Exercise care with hand-held equipment; ensure accuracy of data -Accurately complete all paperwork including DOT logs, pay-sheets, expense reports and all job-related paperwork -Professional appearance to include Air Liquide uniform, good personal hygiene -Promote safety/service excellence in the field consistent with Air Liquide and IGS values -Adhere to work schedule; 8 on 4 off, 12-hour shifts -Drive safely and efficiently in hazardous road conditions; utilize common sense/experience to assess safety of road conditions; discontinue a trip when weather or road conditions warrant -Attend all safety training classes and periodic safety meetings as required -Comply with all safety policies, DOT regulations -Use company required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) -Inspect truck for defects before/after trips, including but not limited to tractor, trailer, and nitrogen pumping equipment; identify any maintenance action that may be required on transporting vehicle; act appropriately if action is needed -Report all accidents, possible injuries, driving citations immediately to supervisor -Apply knowledge of commercial driving regulations and skill in maneuvering vehicle in difficult situations such as narrow passageways -Strive to meet customer expectations without exception -Report any customer complaints -Work cooperatively with supervisor and IGS staff to ensure prompt, accurate delivery of service -Assist in maintaining equipment including cleaning, washing and servicing -Assist service equipment operators, drivers and trainees when applicable -Communicate professionally/effectively with other operators, supervisors, customers, delivery personnel, etc at all times -Exhibit professionalism; promote modeling of core behaviors; set an example for trainees/other service equipment operators -Attend customer pre-job site surveys and safety meetings -Ensure all fuel receipts and shipping orders are submitted to La Porte office on weekly basis -Coordinate with field supervisors for daily scheduling to resolve routine issues -Report to Operations Manager -Report regulatory compliance issues/concerns to supervisor, HSE Specialist/Manager as appropriate -Support/participate in HSEQ and RM programs/objectives established by the entity -Assist operations manager, training coordinator, and field supervisors in training other personnel as appropriate -Utilize Air Liquide OJT program in training on all procedures including equipment, operations and applications -Promote safety culture with Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Near Miss reporting, Safe Start training and QMS implementation
General Requirements: -High school diploma or GED -Minimum of 3+ years experience driving tractor-trailer/heavy-wheel vehicles -Possesses all applicable HAZMAT (Hazardous Materials) and Tanker endorsements -Possesses a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License -DMV record cannot exceed three moving violations and/or preventable accidents in the last three years -Possesses working knowledge of truck mechanics; strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills required -Working knowledge of current DOT regulations -Successful completion AND passing of DOT written regulations and road tests -Product knowledge of cryogenic, compressed, specialty gases preferred -Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) -Effective communication skills -On Call 24/7; carry cell phone; able to travel (50%) -Able to wear all required PPE -Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, climbing to a significant degree; exertion of up to 100 pounds of force
