Summary The Lead Developer position is a senior developer position with Enterprise AX (ERP) experience. The position is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and operational / maintenance of new and existing programs in the Teledyne’s Microsoft AX ERP environment. The lead position will set programming standards for Teledyne’s development team and work closely with the manager of the group to set the strategy and direction for the team. The position will not have direct management responsibilities; however, will act in a lead role.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. AX Development Policy, Process and Standards: The position will be responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining programming standards for the AX team consistent with IT infrastructure policy, processes and associated standards. This includes program change compliance. 2. Technical Specification Development: The position will be responsible for translating business / functional design documents into high quality technical specifications, that he or other developers can use to develop high quality code. 3. Programming: The position will be responsible for doing complex development within Teledyne’s Microsoft AX enterprise ERP system. 4. Test / Quality: The position will be responsible for managing the quality of code being developed within the AX development team. The developer will be responsible for testing developed software in Microsoft AX and performing code reviews with other developers. 5. AX Environment: The position will be responsible for implementing fixes, enhancements, and modifications within the Microsoft Dynamics AX as directed by management. Implementation of these requests is to be handled via a variety of technologies including configuration and customization tools exposed from the frameworks, SQL Server, and the .NET Framework. Expected to define business and/or functional requirements or work from existing requirements and identify the best technical approach to implement within the technical architecture. 6. Project management: The position will be responsible for managing project activities in the development area. This will require the development of detailed plans that divide programming work into manageable work packages in collaboration with the Project manager. 7. General Support: The position will have support responsibilities specific to the most complex client AX trouble shooting problems. Support will require troubleshooting malfunctions of program bugs, hardware and software applications, and security systems to resolve operational issues and restore services. 8. Other Essential Duties: Follows all import/export requirements, consulting with facility import/export personnel as required.
• This job has no supervisory responsibilities but will provide technical leadership to lower level developers including carrying out lead responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures. This includes, but is not limited to training employees, planning, assigning, directing work and resolving technically related work problems. It also includes interaction with other ERP, technical and business unit teams.

Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. • 2+ years of Dynamics AX project experience preferably working as a development lead for at least one global/complex (multiple ISV solutions / work streams) deployment. • Microsoft Dynamics AX Development / Installation Experience (AX 2012 preferred) • Working knowledge of programming methodologies, structures, and concepts .Net framework, UML, XML, SharePoint, BizTalk • 5+ years working with an object oriented development language (e.g. X++, C++, C#, VB.NET, Java, .NET framework) • 1+ year with AIF, BOF, TFS and SSRS • Experience with Dynamics AX Trace Parser. • Experience with the diagnosis of X++ code tracing with performance analysis outcomes and recommendations. • Knowledge of T&L, SCM, General Ledger, and Projects including PSA • 2+ years as a senior X++ developer working with large development projects. • Working knowledge of database design and SQL (Query Language) • Experience work with ISV solutions such as BottomLine, eBanking, CCH, and BuyDesign preferred • Have experience in estimating development effort. • Current certifications in Dynamics AX Development Introduction and MorphX Solutions Development • Working knowledge of Microsoft platform skills • Ability to lead developers • Willingness to learn in a fast-paced business environment • Industry-specific knowledge is preferred (e.g. High Tech Manufacturing)
Education and/or Experience • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS, a related field, or equivalent experience • Ability to write effective reports, handle business correspondence, present information both verbally and in writing and respond to questions from all levels within the organization. • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Working Environment/Conditions: •No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions. •Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
Physical and Mental Activities and Requirements: •No or very limited physical effort required. •No or very limited exposure to physical risk. •Must be able to sit for extended periods of time. •Ability to look at a computer screen for extended periods of time.
